LJ Trunk Locker

Hello. Just got my 2006 Unlimited about a month ago and was vexed by not having good lockable storage for when running around town with the top off (which is most of the time here in Texas). I found this poly tool box at Tractor Supply.

Fits perfect! I ran some ubolts underneath like this.

Then I used some thumb screws inside like this.

Whole shootin match was about $80. Enjoy!

LJ Trunk Locker

Looks like a nice fit. Just bought an LJ a few weeks ago and had the same issue except mine had a sub in the back. I made a simple rack to keep someone from piling it out, undid the seat latch so it could not be laid forward. It s not full proof but will slow someone down. Cost about $50 in materials to make. I need to take a photo with it painted.

Nice rack, but it ain't in a LJ. What kind of weight do you think it will handle?

It's an LJ, maybe the angle doesn't show it. Hope this picture helps. It's 1" thin walled tubing, it could probably hold 75-100lbs as it sits. Had I ran the tubing over the rails it would probably be double that, the edges where it bolts is the weak point. But That's just my best guess, it hasn't been load tested.

gostrider01 - like your set-up, what tube fenders, rock rails and full corner guards you sporting? Also wheel size, thing looks great, I just bought a grey/silver 06 LJ, want to something similar.
