I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but I took the cover from my bent D30 and cut it down to make a diff guard for the front. Cover was free + cost of a cut off disk + a hand full of hardware to mount it. Less than $15. You could paint it and be under $20.

Here's a picture of the cooler. I cut the stencil out of posterboard using a laser cutter ....to hold the centers of the e's and the b in place I used thin filament wire and hot glue

Found an old steel box on the cheap, added a barrel lock in the top, painted it and bolted it down.

Man I wish my TJ had that much trunk space. I have an old military explosive cannon shell box that would fit perfect there. Doesn't fit in the TJ.

I almost didn't have enough room either.

That box came with a hasp for a padlock on the front, and it was just a little too big. The tailgate just wouldn't quite close with the pad lock on it.

So I cut the hasp off and added the lock in the top. Glad I did though. Now I can open it without even having to open the tailgate.

Jason, did you purchase the kit that actually holds the top, or make it? If you made it, how?

Thanks, Bill
