Ok so I know it's close to winter and all and no one is really taking off their tops, but I took my side window and put them into the storage bag of a full size camping chair, and then bungied it to the soft top when it was folded down

looks good. my first was just as yours, then i thouight why not expand the gap between the front/back bars and it allowed my Galaxy to fir up higher and closer to roof, givinig more head room. Then i went with yeasu ham gear, ditched the CB and now even more room. looks good-- nice welds.

Look it's a 4.6!

That was actually my first welding project. Wanted to learn, I'm already a machinist, so I went and bought a miller 211 and its very easy to use. Had someone show me a few things and then I practiced some then built this. I plan on getting a 2-meter after I take the test. Been looking at a kenwood tm-d710a

good to hear. i REALLY like the yaesu 8800. That paired with t he yaesu FT60 makes a great trail combo for in and out of rug trail com plus you get cross band repeat. Use that a lot.

good luck

Thanks. Would be a lot easier affording radio equipment if I didn't have 3 jeeps lol. Trying to fix up my wagoneer first because not a lot of those around.

Hello everyone!! Go to the link, then the video at the bottom of the page. Check out the mirror relocation brackets with windshield mounted light tabs I fabbed out of scrap metal laying around. Cost? Metal: freebie .... Lights: freebie ..mirrors: came on my half steel doors ..... paint: time, a few cents for the powder coat paint and what ever the electric was used to bake\cure the paint. Oh yea,I'd like to point out a slight goof up in case yall wanna copy my idea (feel free to copy). The square tubing needs to be parallel to the ground before its welded in. I wasn't thinking and welded it straight to the flat plate. Well .. the YJ mirrors don't have enough tilt to compensate for the pitch of the windshield. So, in driving position, the mirror looks more at the ground then traffic beside me. I used some washers and a spot mirror to adjust the tilt to a safer viewing angle until I feel froggy to build another set.

Tell me what yall think
