I have heard of people trying to tint soft top windows before, but I'm not sure that it always works out well. Based on what I have read, though, the answer is no or if you do it will look like crap real soon.

I looked into this a few years ago. When I got my windows tinted on my truck I talked to the guy about it. He said that the tint would not go on smoothly and that there would be bubbles forming. Also I think with rolling the plastic window up and down it would eventually delaminate the tint from the window. I'd be interested to see if there was anything out now for plastic windows.

I tinted my plastic windows with "limo tint". Comes in sheets but get the kit that is sold separate that has the spray adhesive too. Just be very carefull when you trim the windows of excess that you don't cut the window too. I did this last summer and it came out great! Still on to this day. The only part that is coming up is by the upper corner on both sides by the "b" pillar (right behind the seats).

Oh yea, after I applied, and trimmed the windows, I left them on a flat surface for 2 days to make sure everything held in place. I also used Dupont fabric paint/dye to change the color of my soft top too (from tan to black). Did this last summer too, no fading and no issues!

The picture was taken in March of this year.........

Has anyone tried that lens blackout spray? When I replace my soft top windows I might try this on the old ones.

I used the static cling and my door uppers have held up great, the back window I will need to redo. Its peeling at the top corners. Its crappy tint tho. Its the black magic stuff from autozone and its like red/brown from the inside.

All in all id do it again if I had to. It does what its supposed to. Keeps the heat out and decreases visability from the outside.

I had a different take on this thread topic, I was thinking of coloring the top itself. I have a Spice colored top and would like to dye it black. Any suggestions?
