High Lift Jack Mounting Location

I am trying to decide where to mount my 48" High Lift Jack on my YJ? Any suggestions and pictures would be appreciated. I would like to mount it on the outside of the jeep if possible but any suggestions are welcome! Thanks

Jason

I've seen pics of hi-lifts mounted on the hood. I believe Quadratec has a kit to do this. I'm lacking with pictures now though.

I made a mount for on my front bumper
Used some square tube as spacers and threaded rod with some wing nuts to secure it

You can see where it is in this pic

I have a Jeep :D

I had mine on the front bumper, destroyed it by hitting a couple trees. I thought about the hood for the next location, decided I wanted it inside. I ended up getting some fence clamps from Lowe's and mounting it on the rear roll bars right above the tub. It fits great and it's inside. Cost - roughly $6.00

I have the trunk thinking from DC when I bought. Simply added two bolts that bolt it down to the trunk top and makes a perfect mount!

Did you carpet the top of your trunk? Also did you just drill and install the bolts from the inside of the trunk? How about locking? Drill through the bolt and use a padlock.

I'm sure Grandman won't mind me posting up a pic of his YJ, but his is mounted on the hood.
