Door lock

How do I disengage the automatic door lock on my passenger side door so I can lock it manually? I have a 2000 XJ

You could remove the power wire ( unplug it ) from the door lock. ( Remove inner door panel first. )
It would disable the power lock for that door.
If its a four wire plug you may get a fault light or door not locked warning.
In which case check which pins are linked when the door closed and locked then short the pins in the plug.
Make sure you close the door properly each time as you have now bypassed the door not closed warning.
