That's a very general open-ended question! A lot depends on what your Jeep will be used for and how mechanically adept you are
-remove traction bars and sway bars for MUCH better flex, I drive mine daily and can't say that there's that much difference on road -Herculine the interior (should cost under $100 US, relatively cheap...makes a world of difference -make a home-made snorkel (black PVC pipe) should cost approx $50 US, may not look as pretty as the $300 jobs but it will work, there's plenty of write-ups on this forum and on the web -have a hi-lift jack? install a mounting system on the back roll bars using a couple of fence post clamps, works great -keep browsing the YJ/General Offroading/Cheap Fixes sections of this forum...you'll find plenty of other ideas Peace! <'93 YJ, 4.0, 4" Skyjacker lift, Rancho shocks, 33" BFG A/T, 1 1/4" Greasable shackles, Herc'd interior, Herc'd full hard doors, track/sway bar delete> |

--rip all the old carpet out....it hold in moisture and rot the floor
--take the air box open and take out the reducer in the air tube --make sure to do a tune up....it will be very helpful to save cash in the long run... have a fun man.....i know that broke college feelings ![]()

If you have a lift, flip the rear view mirror upside down. better visability.

hey, im in the same boat you are...if you can do a bit of your own work a really cheep 2 inches would be to add extra leafs..my dad and i finished it in about a week only because we were very busy with other stuff for my 94 yj the extra springs were only about 100 bucks. its pretty simple, i didnt even have to buy new shocks. Do you know anything about lifting with bigger leafspring shackles?

im building my YJ in this exact way, in college working like 10 hours a week through the school, im getting ready to put 33s on my YJ
i find that it is easiest to plan out how youre going to modify your jeep in steps, look for things taht are going to be kept for a while i would suggest a 1 inch body lift, 1 inch shackle or AAl lift run your bigger tires, up to 33s if you do a lot of body work keep your axles, theyll hold up to 33s with open diffs make sway bar discos for 5 bucks from home depot parts |

There are actually two. The first one is right at the air intake of the air box. It's an hour-glass shaped piece of plastic tube. just remove it out of the box. The second one is leaving the air box. IIRC it is in the hose leaving the air box. Here's my cheap mod contribution. I thought I'd revive it. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f20/starter-pushbutton-crawlin-222350/ Here is an old thread that had gotten lost From cheap tricks. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f46/cheap-cool-mods-98936/
