Cheap wal-mart remedy for a prop top?

has anyone ever made thier own prop top? i was thinking along the lines of cutting a strip of plastic out of a gaint rubbermaid box and invert it out. I really dont see how hard it could be to make your own if you can find a good material. ANy ideas?

a prop-top is a strip of plastic that hold up your front half of the soft-top so it will stop flapping in the wind, make rainwater roll off instead of gather and prolongs life of soft-top due to less wear and tear..

Get 2 1.75-2in X .5in PVC "T"s, a stick of .5in PVC and some glue.
Cut the "T"s in half with the connector part for the .5in PVC intact. Cut a length of 5.in PVC that is @ 1-2in longer than the width of the bars that connect the windsheild to the roll cage (streamer bars). Place the .5in PVC into the connector on the "T"s so it looks like an "I". Place the short ends of the "I" on the streamer bars and bow the PVC up. Test fit to make sure it is the proper length before gluing everything together. I wish I had some pics of the one I did (sold that jeep) to help out with the description.

Sure it makes sense well to me it does. Just take a T connect peice of pvc pipe and cut in half on the top of the T part. That part will be placed on the "streamer bar" (the part of the roll cage that connects your windsheild and the roll cage behind your head.)
Then take a peice of regular pvc pipe that will fit in the other end of the T that you did not cut. Do the same for both ends. That part of the T that is cut in half will be placed on the top of the streamers.
The pipe will connect both T's and you need to cut them a little longer than the width of the inside of the streamer bars. I would use some hose clamps to hold the T on the streamer bar just a thouht.
All you have to do is get the size of piping want like giggles said 1.75"x2"x5" T and you need 2 of them. What that means it the top of the T is 2" long and leg of the T is 1.75" long and the holes are .5" in diameter. Then you need a pvc pipe that will fit in the .5" diameter hole in the leg of the T. Then if it fits to your personal standards then glue it all together.
Does this make a little more sense just going by what i can imagine in my head?

I used to put a frisbe on a stick and stand it on the console. Now I just leave the top off all summer, park it inthe garage, and take the Durango when it rains.

I made one last year and it worked great. No need to glue anything together. The pressure does it just fine. Make sure to get the thin walled stuff for the cross piece.

I bought an extendable ice scraper (dual use in MI)...just extended it, twisted it closed, and viola!, a $5 no rain puddles, no 100lbs of snow on my top prop.
