cheap LED interior mod

I was tired barely being able to see in my yj at night with opening the doors and sometimes while driving so i wired in a blue LED strip under my dash. I have it wired to turn on when opening either door, also wired to a switch for driving (with doors shut). heres how

1. buy a 12" to 30" led strip on ebay (10 bucks) and mount it wherever you want to light up under the dash.

2. wire the positive to a constant power source, i used an unused fuse spot (make sure its constant power, even with key out otherwise it wont work with opening doors)

3. wire the ground to connect to the door push button on driver side (where the annoying buzzer for your keys being in ignition is) then splice into that cable, run it to the passenger door button, and a cheap switch you can buy at auto zone for $5

bam, only turns on when you open either door or turn switch on. you can wire in another switch to the ground (before all of the splices) and have a complete kill switch for running without doors.

I was thinking of doing it with a LED rope light around my roll bars. contecting to a switch. Easily doable and it would look pretty good. what do you think?

If you can see it enough all my lights are blue. Blue is the brightest. These pictures don't do the lights justice but I highly recommend this mod. Very nice

Be careful with running those blue lights if you have the doors off. Cops hate it when people use their colors and have no hesitations about pulling people over for impersonating an officer. I had red dome lights in my old Ranger and had a cop get pretty bent out of shape about it. Your mileage may vary, but just a heads up if you find an officer who is particular.

I wired it to a switch instead of the door, simply because it looks sick when driving with the doors off or parked. They look a lot more blue in person.
Did a cop really bust you for that Muddy?
