camping window screens
if you ever sleep in your jeep try making small window screens out of parts from a hardware store to put in when you have the windows rolled down...it will keep it cool and keep bugs out

At hardware stores they sell frames and screen to make screen doors, buy several feet of each, and some tubing to hold the screen to the frame. Measure the windows you want covered make the screen, then simply wedge the screen imbetween the rolled down window and the top of the window frame

ive tossed this idea around before but never got around to it........another cool thing i saw was a cherokee where someone had cut the screen out of a large tent and duct-taped it to the back so they could sleep with the hatch open...sounds pretty crappy but looked sweet

Go the extra mile. Buy a mosquito net large enough to throw over the Jeep.
It's inexpensive, folds up small, and has many other uses. |

i dont know if i would want to try and sleep in a wrangler, i have slept in the cherokee with the back seat bottom out and folded down and it was still cramped! about 10 feet of rope a tarp and 4 stakes and 1 hell of a cheap tent.

If you need a small fan, you can get a computer cooling fan. very low power consumption, quiet and small. sometimes just a little breeze makes all the difference.

You need to change brands,
I've got several that you can feel at the back end of the LJ sitting on the dash. they are great when stuck at the CP.

You know, magnets will hold screen to your outer window frames really nice - if you have the doors in. We did that in my partners Liberty - works great - no bugs and lotsa breeze!

Holy old thread!
I carry a cab cover that I bet could easily be modified to include a screen on each side to allow airflow. It would be like a Jeep tent! ![]() |
