I put some busted parts to good use for mine. i took my jacked up old Dana 35 pinion gear that I had floating around. Cut it in half. used the stem part for the column (auto shift) handle and the actual gear part for my t-case. just drilled and tapped em, sprayed em with a few coats of rustoleum and I now can show off my damage trophies any time

thanks. its a good fit for my hand too. feels good to grab onto and its pretty heavy so it keeps the shifter from rattling around too much. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be either. thought for sure it would be hard to drill thru but my bit ate right into it with no trouble. the thread on the t-case is a standard 3/8" thread so I just tapped the hole in the pinion gear for that and was good to go

Not to beat a dead horse... but the grenade shift knob from Quadratec was given to me as a gift a couple of years ago. I installed it right away and have been using it ever since. It rattles like a son of a gun. My wife puts her hair rubber band on it when she is in the Jeep. I have gotten so used to it I don't even notice it anymore. Plus the stereo is up so loud most of the time anyways.
Someone mentioned it getting cold in the winter and hot with the top down in the summer... let me tell you, I think my hand has the imprint of a grenade pattern burned into it my palm just like the guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark from the California summers. And on days like today... it will be freezing when I drive home from work. But it's a Jeep and I love it anyways. People get a kick out of there being a grenade inside. And yes... shifting is a little smoother with it on there.

I had a custom knob made from http://www.ripps70.com/Page_1.html He can make them in any color and if you have a pin that is 1" square or smaller he can actually put it inside the knob. There's a pic on my cardomain page

I had a Flameball on my '08 JK and really liked it.

flameball.com

Oh, I got the LED light built in. Nice at night, and not cheesy. I'd love one for my XJ, but I think the angle would be wrong and it would sit too low.
