Take a look at the assembly before you attempt this, I think mine took a torx socket just to take off the OEM bolt holding this piece together. Oh yeah, use lots of WD40 to loosen that bolt up.
Once installed, I noticed they tend to make a lil more squeeky noises but that's about it...personally, I was a little paranoid and bought at least an extra set just in case they popped after a road trip to the OHV spots. I also just re-install my OEM bolts when I know I'm not going out wheelin' for awhile since I'd rather not have these homemade discos break on the freeway when i'm doing 80 on a turn or something, lol!

Brake Lines
I was wondering if anyone knew if the brake lines need to be extended at all on an 08 X unlimited to use these "disconnects". I remember when I went to put disconnects on my 05, the brake lines needed to be extended. I would hate to be heading down a trail and find out I have no brakes.

I looked at doing it to the rear, but never actually did... I've seen quite a few photos of rear springs popping out under full flex so I decided against it... but the rear sway bar is set up the same way and it could be done.

I just wanted to post I am going to have a couple 1/2" clevis pins turned down on a lathe to the .480" dia. Of the bolts. Also going to tig weld a washer on the head of the pin. I will post results when I get then done and deployed.

Some brake grease might help with the squeaking.

I wonder if heat treating the pins would help at all. Heat till red, quench in oil sort of thing. Or heat in charcoal, and case harden.
If the metal is viable for that.
