Valhalla Fabrication is excited to introduce tube doors for the Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ!

Features include:
  • 1.5” x 1/8" wall HREW tubing
  • 2” x 3” x 3/16" angle iron mounting flange
  • Guaranteed rattle-free latches using the factory striker
  • Laser cut slotted latch plates for adjustment
  • Only 22 lbs per front door & 20 lbs per rear door, thus making your WJ appox. 240 lbs lighter.
  • 100% USA made

For side mirrors, we recommend using a 1.5" tube clamp with a drilled/tapped hole such as THESE. We went this route to allow customers to purchase mirrors after-the-fact, and to allow a wide variety of options for the mirrors themselves. This also provides a cleaner look should you want to remove them (for tight trails, etc).

Pricing for front pairs: $345 with FREE shipping

Pricing for a full set of front and rears: $660 with FREE shipping

Please allow a couple weeks for build time. They are shipped as bare metal, but we may offer a powder coating option in the future. We're also looking into a mesh netting option. (No ETA on these)

Thanks again to everyone for their feedback in this thread.

Any chance you are going to make cargo netting to go over the tube rails?

Yes, but there's no ETA on this. We're still shopping around for the best option.

May I suggest snaps, like a tonneau cover rail, with a net/mesh pocket that snaps on. At least on the driver's door.

I think I know what I want for Christmas!

Looking forward to seeing the ZJ prototype.

How do the doors latch and unlatch and is there a handle for them?

That’s a great idea. We're still contemplating snaps or elastic bands as the anchors.

They're definitely one of our higher priorities. Expect to see a prototype soon.

They're slam latches with a small lever that you pull up to open (no chance of accidentally opening them while driving).

Oh, I see now, and how easy are they to install?

The hardest part is handling the 80 pound OEM door. There's only 4 bolts holding on the tube door, and it only weighs 25 pounds.

PurpleToxin1 07-25-2012 10:32 PM

Are the oem doors just bolted on, or do you have to cut something?
