Ordered! $24.00 shipping! Post office do take a bite don't she? One of the drawbacks of living oversees. On a side note I did some trial and error with double sided tape this afternoon and it seems this is the best tweeter location for my sound pod mounted subs. Ok I'm done pulling your thread off topic. Sorry.

You're telling me about postage! I'm glad you were able to find a location for your tweeters that suite your preference too.

Always welcome to post in here. I'm far from an "audio expert", but the point of the forum is to share your opinions and experiences with others.

Well in that case, here's an update. I returned the Hertz 5.5s...because they were actually 5.0s. I didn't realize it when I bought and installed them but was glancing at the specs on them a few days later and sure enough they were only 5" luckily I hadn't scuffed them up to bad and was able to talk the shop into store credit. I wound up stuffing 6.5" Rainbows in there place! 1.25" larger than stock! Believe it or not, they fit perfect. No trimming at all. I didn't even need to drill new mounting holes. Just towed the screws in at an angle and grabbed the original holes. And just as I was finishing up the install these beauties showed up. very nicely made. Thanks again for offering overseas shipping.

Included screws are long

Dumb question, did you include longer screws so people could cut them down to what they need? With the closed off nuts I won't be able to get the screws close to tight. Thanks!

I guess I'm not following what you're asking? I send out 1/2" long screws.

Installed your brackets and Polk speakers just a couple of hours ago in my 98 TJ. I had to use the black screws that were used with the stock speakers to mount the bracket as I couldn't get the new screws to thread properly. That could have been user error but no big deal.

I did have to trim the driver's side bracket toward the top right. Basically had to make a 90 degree cut out to allow the bracket to sit right. The metal behind the dash in that area wasn't in a position I could cut that out.

Easy fix and I don't know if anyone else has run into that or not but thought I'd mention it.

Would recommend the adapters to anyone looking to upgrade their speakers. The new ones sound nice.

Here's the install write-up from the page you order from:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f20/h...-pics-1244021/

The nuts/bolts that I include are for mounting the speaker to the bracket.
