It's a jeep so you are quite limited but these adapters at least get you in the ballpark for some good sound. Now to investigate some polyfill for behind the speakers....

Crappy 4" x 6"ers still.

Whole sack full of chaos when I tried to upgrade my TJ audio. Factory 5.25"s from the sound bar did not fit in your brackets. I could mount them on the back of the plate, I'd just need longer screws. However, even if they did mount up, I'd have to finagle the built-in plastic adapter housing off the connectors on the crappy factory speakers, without breaking them, to even cut and splice em in.

Also, I didn't pay mind to the different lil' plastic tabs on the front/rear speakers and ordered the wrong harness to upgrade my sound bars to 6.5"s.

The good news i all of this is that I have the brackets, speaker adapter harness, and polyfill ready to go if I buy new front 5.25"s. Oh and the 6.5"s slipped right into my sound bar.

Wayne, are you sure you were working with the factory speakers -- even 5.25"s for that matter? Many forum contributors, myself included, have successfully swapped factory soundbar speakers into the dash without a hitch. If you measure the woofer cone it will not measure 5.25" -- the bolt holes on 5.25" speakers are in a 5.25" diameter circle -- if the bolts did not line up with the adapter then you were not working with 5.25"s.

It's all good. The mounting holes are fine, I can do a 'bottom' mount to them w/wee bit longer hardware. I'm certain my paper speakers are OE. I prob could have defaced the structure of them a bit and got them to fit, but didn't feel like bending any metal on the speaker. Didn't feel like doing any finagelin' to be honest.

Crutch had a great deal on the Polk Dxi 5.25"s (44 clams) w/delivery and they come with the rear soundbar wiring adapters. The ones I bought only work up front.

Guess it's new speakers all around for me, woot woot.

Polk Audio tweeter mounts to go with your speaker adapters. A few of you have been waiting on this batch!
