I have received a good bit of interest in these. What sizes/brands are you interested in running? I currently have 4 prototype sizes.

As I mentioned on my FB post to you last week, I am installing Polk DB5251 in the front. Just painted my 5.25" brackets and looking forward to these. Pics coming soon.
Thanks for posting the tweeter bracket pics. Have you noticed if the door straps get in the way when the door is closed in this position?

Looking forward to them!
Door straps fold in just above them, not an issue.
I am still in the process of determining what sizes to put into production for the tweeter mounts. Potential customer input is greatly appreciated!

05RubiLJ,
These are designed to be flush mount so you wont need the mounting cup. I have a prototype set that is withing a few hundredths of 2"...if you have a set of calipers and want to check I'd be glad to send them your way. I will have some 2" ones cut in the next speaker adapter batch.
I actually ordered some MM5251's from SonicElectronix early this morning, I'll be able to check out their tweeter dimensions first hand if you are unable to. I suspect the DB1001 is going to be the main seller.

Took some pictures of the 1.75" mount with some old Pioneer's:

Just took it out of the press brake.

Bolted it to the door pin for those of you that might be scratching you head on how it mounts.

How the tweeter flush mounts.(I unscrewed the metal retainer, slid it in, then re-installed because it is an exact fit around the tweeter). Note: The pin bolts to your tub, I used some nuts that I had laying around to simulate it for these pictures.

Front view of tweeter.

In the Jeep. Does not interfere with door strap, and could not get my foot near it without blatantly trying.

Tried to take this roughly where my head would be, while still being able to see it through the wheel.
I am about 15 speaker adapters sales away from cutting another sheet, several sizes of these will be on that sheet. Should be before the end of the month.

Guess I'll be doing some 2-1/16" ones too! I wonder why their manual says a 2" hole saw? I agree with you that those need 2-1/16".

I did not have a 2" hole saw but I did find a 2" mailer tube and it drops right in. I also had some 2" schedule 40 PVC (measured 2 3/64 ID) and it had a bit more play in it. After some testing, I think 2" should be fine for Polk DB1001,

The one's I've drawn on the sheet so far have a hole a few hundredths larger than 2". I appreciate your willingness to share the dimensions!

Just want to say that I used these to replace my factory speakers with some new Polk Audio speakers, and they were worth every penny! Solid as hell, went in with no fuss, no rattles, perfectly sized, everything I could have hoped for.
The new speakers aren't bad, either.
Also, have you guys given any thought to back seat and/or center console mounting brackets? I'd like to be able to mount a smaller speaker behind the backseat, around where the rollcage mounts to the tub.

Thanks Marauder
I may not be picturing what you're describing. An open air mount like the tweeters, but for speakers? Speakers need to be in some type of an enclosure for optimal sound.
