The Plastic evaporative canister located under the Jeep JK's floorboard is an important part of the Jeep's emissions and engine management system. Unfortunately, Jeep placed this unit in a vulnerable spot where it can be damaged or torn off by rocks and other trail obstacles. Poison Spyder's JK Evap Skid solves this issue by protecting the canister with a rugged skid plate.
The Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid is CNC laser cut and brake-formed from 3/16" plate steel. It completely envelopes the evap canister to protect it from the bottom, front, sides and rear. The front surface of the skid is slanted like a ramp to help slide the Jeep up and over any obstacles that might reach up that far into the Jeep's undercarriage. And of course the skid features the familiar laser cut Spyder symbol.
The unique installation method involves removing the stock mounting bracket and securing the canister into the skid using the provided components and hardware. This provides the added benefit of lifting the canister enough to gain an extra 3/4" of ground clearance—including the thickness of the skid itself! The JK Evap Skid comes powder coated satin black, and comes in a complete kit with hardware and install instructions.

For those who think the Evap is too far up in there to need protection, this happened on a fairly mild trail, John Bull in Big Bear. A new Poison Spyder Evap Skid is on order for this young lady, as well as a rather expensive factory replacement canister.
For just $100 protect yours with the toughest, best looking, best selling Evap Skid on the market!
Jake Holmes sent us these photos of his Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid installed alongside the MBRP "Off-road" exhaust kit on his 4-door. We thought these might be helpful for anyone with that exhaust kit and considering our skid and wondering about compatibility. It fits great!
