ONBOARD-AIR.COM: Economy OBA System

We just put together a new kit, that is geared towards Jeeps, with an affordable price. We know that space is limited on the Jeeps, so we took the fastest VIAIR compressor (400C) and paired that with the slightly smaller 2 gallon tank. The result is a high performing OBA system that can fill 35" tires and low pressure 37" tires.

This kit comes with just the basics to install an OBA system on your Jeep, which helps keep the cost down. This system uses the same compressor that is used in the Heavy Duty Onboard Air System (10005)!

Save $70 from 10005. It comes with compressor, tank, pressure switch, relay & air relocation kit with air coupler to remote mount anywhere you choose.

We are offering this kit at $299!

What is considered "low pressure" 37" tires?

Thanks, David M

It can do 37's if you're filling to about 40 PSI. The duty cycle of the compressor can handle that without problems.

Will this kit run air tools also if I wanted to mount the tank somewhere under the tub near the frame and the compressor under the hood do I loose some psi because of the distance between the 2?

Yes, this kit will run air tools. You can pull all 5 lugs before the systems starts to refresh up to 150 PSI.

No, you will not lose PSI because of distance. Your pressure switch will still kick on at 110 psi and fill all the way to 150, including the air in the line between the tank and compressor.

I have a 450 Portable. Can I hook this kit up to it (minus the 400 compressor)?

Not sure exactly what your'e asking in particular, I apologize.

A) You can fill the tank with your portable, if you want to have that 2 gallon air storage. In other words, you can hook up your portable as you normally would, but instead of running right to the tire, you can run it through the tank. Then you have a hose from compressor to the tank, then a hose from the tank to your tire. I think this is what you are inquiring about.

B) You could hard mount & hard wire your portable on your Jeep, and then run it into a tank, and essentially transform it into an OBA system.

I hope I answered your question.

Either way can be done, but if you're not needing the compressor from that system, I can just put together some parts for you to create what you are wanting to do.

That is exactly what I was wanting to know.

I have it hard wired now. That would work.

Option A can be done. In fact, you could use the built-in pressure switch on the 450P-A, so you can minus that part out of the kit also.

I can put together a parts list to make this work for you. Shouldn't take many at all.
