I really can't wait to get the underside of my TJ coated. I still have those 2 quarts sitting nicely in my garage. Consider me subscribing to help with questions that many may have.

What is the min. temperature Chassis Saver can be applied? I know Monstaliner is 55ish degrees not sure if they were the same. Also, if I plan to apply it in a heated garage this winter, how long will I have to keep the space heated to a specific temperature?

Thanks

Chassis Saver will cure at 40 deg F but it is best to observe 50-55 as a minimum. Maintain your temp for 4 to 6 hours after coating.

Great start to the questions!

As always, LuckRider your help is greatly appreciated.

Happy Turkey Day!

Will the chassis saver turn into a hard shell that will protect against rock chips? somewhat like the POR 15 product.

Thanks!

Yes, Chassis Saver cures very hard yet very flexible. Resists chipping like nothing you have ever seen.

Magnetman, have you ever given any thought to creating a product something like this from Eastwood?

Internal Frame Coating w/Spray Nozzle

I am trying to figure out a way to spray the inside of my frame to coat it with CS

I just discussed that Eastwood item with someone last week.
There is a way to do this with Chassis Saver.

The tube and spray tip that comes with that product is commercially available. Need help to find where to buy them. Does Eastwood sell that tube/spray tip alone, not with the internal frame coating?

Yes Eastwood does sell the nozzles separately for like $7 each. I do not have a part number off hand, but you would have to check if the spray head fits the can?

Aerosol Nozzle w/ 18" Extension Hose

I have heard of people using a toilet brush and extension to paint the inside of their frame. This may be a dumb question, but could you reduce CS enough to spray it out of a pump sprayer?

OK, here's the lowdown on this

Chassis Saver as we know has no problem being sprayed. Add 10 to 15% S8 Reducer or xylol/xylene and you can spray through any gun with compressor.

In the past, we tested putting CS in spray cans. At first, the stuff sprayed ok but if the can is put aside for a few hours the tip fouls and you can't
use the can a second time. Long term stability in the spray cans was also an issue that could be solved with some reformulation of the propellant
used in the can.

There are 2 items available in paint stores to spray CS without a gun and compressor.

1st which many have heard of is called the "Preval Sprayer". It comes with an aerosol propellant can that screws on top of a glass jar. Works well but the glass is bad.

2nd is the "CROWN Spra-Tool". (Spelling is correct) This one we love. An aerosol propellant can that piggybacks on the side of a plastic bottle.
It has a regular spray can nozel on top. You thin down the CS and fill the bottle.

Not sure if that Eastwood extension can replace the spray tip on this unit. The only concern I have with the Eastwood item is that the
end of that hose looks weird and not like a tip to atomize paint correctly. This is just an observation as I have never had one of these in my hand.

Pump sprayer may work. Depends on the tip. You won't get good atomization unless it was designed to spray paint.

I'll be back later today with something else if I can find it.

PS: I'll ship you my toilet brush if you want to try it

Ewwww!

Luckrider - I beat you to the underside of the tub!

Bottom of tub took only 1 full quart of Chassis Saver; I sprayed it at about 60 degrees, reduced with about 10% S8 reducer. Used a $40 Harbor Freight HVLP gun http://www.harborfreight.com/air-too...gun-66222.html using the included tip at around 45 psi. 2 coats, 1/2 quart each.

I was never going to get to the underside of my tub, but I do want to do the frame. It snows salt by me.
