I'm not into laptops anymore. Keep spilling coffee in them.

I heard. Most laptops are more likely to have hard drive failure, but mine locks it up to prevent that. I just don't care for sitting in the same position to work on a computer.

Anyway, do you have any suggestions for coating chrome? I have a sway bar cover that is chrome and I hate it. That is the last piece of chrome on the Jeep now, and I might just coat that with liner if I don't have to sand blast.

HD failures in laptops happen for many reasons, dropping them, coffee or tea spilled in them, overheating/poor ventillation, sitting on them, dog lifting leg on them, backing car out of driveway over them, etc. I have 3 of those experiences.

Check data sheet on Bulldog adhesion promoter. I think that works on chrome.
It's also easy enough to coarse sand (60 grit) the chrome to get some adhesion. Let's do a test spot first.

Jeep exterior with Monstaliner

Someone just messaged me from ebay asking:

How many gallons would be required to cover the exterior of a Jeep YJ (Wrangler)?

Anyone have a guesstimate of the footage outside on a YJ. I'm assuming roof is not involved here but I asked for a confirmation.

I have dropped these IBM laptops from 10'-12' without any hard drive failure while playing a move from the HD. There is a sensor that detects it and locks the drive.

Test spot? Why would I do that, if I screw up the cover, it is going in the garbage where it belongs. I guess this is my chance to do a little guinea pig testing. If I have a problem with adhesion, that is what I will do. I will see if I can still find the can of adhesion promoter that we had. I don't know what happened to it though. If I can't find it, I will just try a coarse sand on it.

If you want, I could measure my TJ tomorrow (rough estimates of course). I would image 2 gallons should be enough. Spraying would probably be the best way to do it though.

Shoot him this thread, he might learn something

If you could stretch a tape over yours tomorrow it would be greatly appreciated and worth a free quart of Chassis Saver

Thanks!

Sweet... I have a little bot of surface rust growing that I was hoping to take care of this summer. Since my last final is Monday, I officially end that day, and I could get started stripping things down.

Setting the alarm now. If I don't do that, I won't get up until about noon or later

What measurements do you need? Kidding, but I could get them too. Possibly even online.

I have one you can have for shipping, it is the stock plastic one.

My installation went well. Like others have said, my rollers disintegrated before I was done with the install. The first one when all I had left was the bed floor, the second when I was doing the rails for the top. It looks really good, except for the bits of roller in it. I used the brush to spread product around, then load the roller, hoping to conserve them, but I don't know if it helped. If I were to do it over, I would buy two more rollers. I did the door jambs as well, I was wearing off the paint getting in and out of mine, covered it up nicely. I also did the rectangle of the tub under the tailgate. Mine is black, so I don't think anyone will ever notice it unless they are looking for it.

So it sounds like it wouldn't be the time/effort saver that it seems like it would be on the surface?

I guess if you just plan to use that for laying down the coating it would work as long as you come back over it with the blue foam.

Note if that's your plan, wet the foam roller first in coating before rolling over the surface that already has the liner down.
Good tips, thanks!
