Did you purchase liner yet?
I'm sure this has been asked before. But is it ok if I just apply chassis saver to the tub first before applying monstaliner liner ? I understand I'm going to have to scuff the CS before I apply the ML. Is it ok if I go over the whole body with 80 or 120 grit DA before the CS ? Some parts of the tub is sanded to metal and most is just scuffed up stock paint.
Thank you. Its about 30° out here in Wisconsin and about 45° in my garage.. so I'm just about ready to apply CS..

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't even need to scuff if you apply the ML soon enough after the cs is applied. I don't remember the window of time, but you can definitely do it that way. Obviously, it needs to be dry before the ML goes on though....

Iirc, I think I may have done might cs the night before & the ML the next morning.

I used cs inside my whole tub before the ML went in.

Ordered mine yesterday...along with the free quart of Chassis Saver, some extra rollers, and the small/detail roller kit.

Hoping it works well on my tube fenders, mini boat rockers, swing out tire carrier, and grill hoop.

What's everyone using for spray can primer? Is the Rustoleum 2K good stuff?

That, I don't remember...but I don't think so. I think the cs would start coming up a little if you used MEK on it too soon. Maybe magnetman can verify

Heading out to the garage to sand since the liner is going on tomorrow!

Quick question. Hood has some hail damage. Thoughts on what to do? Heat gun? Dent puller? Or just sand and line over?

Depends on how bad dents are and whether you want to not see it under liner.
Dent puller will make holes needing repair.
If you can get someone to help and hammer gently from under against a piece of steel against the front side you may minimize them

If Chassis Saver is cured enough to scuff it, a light fast MEK wipe will not hurt it.

You can use mineral spirits also to wipe up the dust. Tack rag works also with no solvent.

They're actually not as bad as I thought.. Should be fine with leaving them alone.

So tell me how this looks. Was sanding it for pretty much most of the day.

Just starting out:

After:

Walked around with a flashlight looking for a reflection. Everything is taped off and ready to go for tomorrow, assuming this is the recommended finish needed for the bed liner. I just need to go over everything with a cloth or something to get all the powder off.

Started this tonight as well.

Great! FWIW, we couldn't find the right pads for the orbital sander. Two different packs and they wouldn't attach to the velcro thing, so I guess there's a third type.. We bought like a 50 pack or something of 220 disc shaped sanders for it, which we ended up doing by hand. Didn't take that long with two people. Started on different sides and made a circle, then walked around with a flashlight to look for glare.

Oh and applying the liner on the bumper was easy as can be. Ventilation is key, I was right next to propped open door with wind constantly blowing in. Masks aren't ideal when you're bearded, so.. All in all though I'm loving the product and can't wait for tomorrow!

Do you have any full pictures of this truck? I have a 1994 chevy k1500, I am really considering monstalining my truck this summer. From what i am understanding i would need 2 gallons for my color for exterior and another gallon for my actual bed? Does this sound correct?
Thanks!

Dat first coat.

Left it for 2 hours after I finished and the spot I started in was pretty close to dry. Didn't want to risk it since there's no rush and going back sometime next week for the second coat. This stuff is great to work with and apply. PITA to get off the skin, but it's a small price to pay haha.
