How much paint would it take to paint a whole tj wrangler? How many coats do you recommend? I'm painting over red and black paint with one of your shades of yellow. And I heard from another bedliner company that yellow is the hardest to paint with because it shows paint underneath.

So here are my questions:
Spray vs. Rolled?
How much paint?
How many coats of yellow?
How much time should I allow for painting?

I should have a very little bit of black left. I will have to just try it. I will do a strip across the driveway and just see how it goes. Sure.y won't have to rough it up.

He normaly recomends at least 2 gallons for an exterior job. I used one and got full coverage so im saveing the second for awile and will recoat the entire jeep at somepoint amd touch up the little spots that got messed up when my windshield got replaced. Its been about 4 months and I have power washed it a few times and it still looks brand new. The texture doesnt hold dirt like other liners do.

Wow I can see why people opt to spray. Rolling a whole XJ is a lot of work! So waiting 24h and scuffing and 2nd coating yields good results?

You mayl be better off breaking the job down in sections and get both coats on back to back without having to scuff.

Example: Roof + hood 1 day, then the sides, front and rear next day

Think about it

Don't Yell At Me has some lead pigment in it so for a yellow it covers very well compared to lead free yellows which is what most of the auto industry is using now. You still may want to consider a base coat of a white primer which will help

Got any muriatic acid?
Concrete is usually etched first and flushed well with clean water then allowed to dry thoroughly before coating

The acid removes "laitance" which is a weakly bonded layer of portland cement.

Just ordered my Pyroclastic supplies for my XJ

Hey Eric, do you have the sqft listed for a quart of chassis saver anywhere? I am definitely going to use it on my undercarriage, however, my roof is in pretty bad shape and I am considering doing chassis saver there or just using some phosphoric acid+primer.

Thanks again!

Awesome, so this will be more than enough to do my roof and my frame rails and then some!

So, my roof has patchy rust, most of which I'm going to bring down to bare metal. I'll prime everything that does get down to bare metal and coat the entire thing in chassis saver.

*If I roll on the chassis saver to the roof- will I be able to make it uniform enough to look "even" once I spray the Pyroclastic on top?*

Thanks again Eric!
