Thanks Eric...I went on a short trip to visit them in Michigan and he went into the hospital for a procedure and never came home. Great guy with 7 kids.... Very moving funeral with taps and the military folding up the flag. He will be missed greatly.

Help please. I am hoping this is a stupid question but I am getting ready to do my tub on the 03 TJ. I had asked about reparation some time ago because of the amount of horrid factory work under he carpets. So here are some pictures. This stuff is soft to he touch. Do I sand it off! Razor trim it first? I want my job to look good and am worried hat the liner won't cover up this much crap.

Thanks for opinions!

If you have a die grinder, use that with a 3" red scotchbrite disc. Get a lot of disc because they will load up as you take that crap off. You don't have to go down to bare metal, just smooth it out some.

Chrysler never thought that we would not want carpet in, so they let the assemblers get away with doing that type of work.

2 Jeep Project Help

Hey, how much monster-liner i would need for two tubs and hardtops? Also, we are wanting to spray it on, do we need to purchase a special spray gun? And finally, what is the rough price range to undertake a project like this?

Thanks,
Blake

i'm going to say you are into ...

2gals per tub =4gals
1 gal per hard top=2gals

6gals total =$775
shutz gun = $51.50 http://www.shop.monstaliner.com/Walc...n-WALSHUTZ.htm
2gals acetone = $50
1 roll blue tape = $5
a crap ton of newspaper = hopefully free.
and a sixer to drink after you are done = $9

grand total... just a shade under $900. that's assuming you are doing everything black. the actual tints vary by color.

i would recommend not getting the el-cheapo undercoating gun. i had one that was trash, i couldn't believe the difference after i got the gun i linked to you above. it is a godsent, especially if you are going to be spraying that much liner. i have sprayed about 4-5 gallons through mine so far. i have plane to spray much more in time to come.

I got the Walcom Shutz gun from ML. It can be adjusted to dial in the texture you want.

I wonder if you heated this stuff with a heat gun or torch if you could just take a long sharp kitchen knife and slice off the high spot and ridges then heat it some more and gently hammer it flatter

Thanks for opinions![/QUOTE]

Had not thought of that. I will test out with my heat gun. Might even just flatten. I will update progress in another thread. Don't want to bog this one but will post final here.
