The hurc is NOT UV safe.
Can I cover, mix , whatever with Monstaliner?
If you had old Herc already on the vehicle you could hand wire brush, clean and coat with ML

To put Herc on fresh and then prep for ML you are creating much more work for yourself. You can't scuff sand Herc it's like trying to sand a rubber ball

The 2 products can NOT be mixed in liquid form

I have noticed in some of the pics and post I have noticed that some have spent some time removing the factory seam sealer. Is there any drawback to this. I would like make my tub a little cleaner I just didn't know if it was gonna cause any issues. Tx

Eric, Getting ready to start on my cherokee. And I know we talked about doing half the jeep one day then the other half the next day. But I am still worried about time with edging everything in. My question is can I mix up all my edge work do 2 coats then scuff the areas I edged when I go to do the rolling? Im just remembering when I primed everything that it took me 2 full days to prime everything I plan on monstalining.

Got EP from Napa as suggested. Wire wheeled (low speed) the aluminum surface and applied two coats. I just read where you mentioned to somebody else to scuff if CS is applied to the EP after 2 days. Right on the money. I went by the directions on the EP can that lead me to believe it would be a little longer. I had a 3 day lapse and there were a couple, little, spots that appeared to want to bead up and not adhere so great. Fortunately those 2 areas weren't close to any seams or rivets. 2nd coat of CS covered everything completely. Also got the plywood floorboards coated with their first coat of CS. The void in between will get foamed. So not worried about those two spots being scuffed away or anything. Will know better next time.
Just ordered 2 more cans of CS last night. The two I used were reserved for jeep use. Gotta do the exterior of the boat hull yet. Gonna hit a local vender for another quart to get the floorboards finalized tonight. Want to get the interior done befor labor day. I did get some pics, but left phone in the jeep. I'll get them up later.

NAPA parts stores usually have 2 quart kits of epoxy primer
Light scuff aluminum first and solvent clean with acetone or MEK

And don't listen to anyone in parts stores when they look at you funny and say you have to spray this stuff

Just ordered all the sample chips. If I like them enough I'll be putting my raptor kit on Craigslist and going with monster instead

Ok, Ive made up my mind to go with ML, chosen the color, now roll or spray? I'm going with MIdnight Special on my '83 CJ. Just curious to know what the consensus is about rolling or spraying for an exterior.

up to you really. to spray you will spend at least a couple hours masking/taping the stuff you dont want covered. spraying is super easy and the dry time between coats is usually faster. i love the texture the spray gun makes. your gunna need a shutz gun, good air compressor, and a place to spray it. you can do it outside on nice day but if a leaf, bug, or grass blade lands on it your gunna need to pick it out before it drys. i masked off the areas with a strip of painters tape, then taped plastic drop sheets to the masking tape i had already put down. you will probably need to roll some hard to reach places but the gun can spray quite a bit.

i would have or get this stuff
-3 rolls of masking tape
-painters plastic drop sheets (i bought a 9 pack from lowes, 9x12ft sheets)
-more scuff pads or sandpaper
-maybe a regulator to put between air hose/shutz gun. this would let you spray at a set psi

oh yeah, over spray of this stuff can go pretty far, so if you do it in a garage or outside near a house i would stay like 10ft away from anything valuable or cover it with a drop sheet as well

"4 low, 2nd gear, skinny peddle on the right"
bought not built, broke, then rebuilt
you thought you had rust?

If I go with monsta instead of raptor liner I will be spraying it. I just prefer the finish

Floorboards and hull have since recieved a 2nd coat. Installing some additional aluminum frame for the floor, then foam packing. Floor will get carpeted after install, and then seats and side boards.

I have been reading thru this thread and there is a lot of great information! But I was wondered that when I put my roll cage back in it's not going to bolt up to the body right. I'm almost doing my exterior and wasn't sure if the door hinges and windshield hinges will go back in place right with the liner between them
