No problem. I was really lazy so I just copy pasted. It really isn't that hard to take a little time to make sure what you say is clear, concise, logical, and comprehensible. It also helps when you believe in what you are saying. It is as simple as that. I can't wait to see the first things in colors start to show up. I would love to see an entire exterior in Monstaliner color.

I was wondering if you guys have any stickers available? My Tub in the XJ should be done soon. Has anyone used MonstaLiner or Chassis Saver on an Axle? i just picked up a Chrysler 8.25 that is covered in rust.. so I am going to wire wheel the hell out of it and hit it with Chassis Saver.

Thought I would post some in progress pics of my Monstaliner project.

Here is the bare metal all prepped to go. For those interested, I'm coating a set of MetalCloak fenders and 6" flares as well as an Undercover Fab aluminum skid plate.

Here is everything after I applied the first coat of primer. I used a 2 part primer and applied with a normal hair paint brush. It is approx 68 degrees in my garage and relatively low humidity. I concentrated mostly on not having any runs. I wasn't as worried about getting the primer glass smooth since the Monstaliner will hide anything. But I don't think it would hide big drips. The technique that helps me most was painting downhill (if that makes sense).

I will wait an hour or two before I flip everything over to hit the places that the parts are sitting on. The paint application took me about 2 hours.

My original plan was to apply the Monstaliner the same way I applied the primer, which was to paint 95% of everything, then go back for the small parts. However, I don't think that technique will work. My plan now is to liner the bottom/back of everything first with 2 coats, wait for it to dry (enough) and then flip over. The reason is because of all the mount holes. They grab paint and then drip on the opposite side. I don't care what the inner fenders or engine side look like but I really want to eliminate all visible drips.

I was also going to exclusively use a foam brush. But I may need to keep a small hair paint brush handy for some of the tiny crevices.

I just mixed a small batch of primer and I'm waiting for it to get ready.

After looking at the first layer of primer and my original test panel, I am going to go with a textured coating. Despite some decent effort, the primer is uneven in places and I did get some runs. I think I could have prevented that if I had spent twice as long on it or if I had a spray gun.

My plan now is to apply the first coat (reduced about 10%) with the flat foam brush and apply the second coat with the Monstaliner supplied rollers. I don't know if I'll reduce the second coat. I'd like to keep the texture small but I also want it to be as glossy as possible. If I remember right, those are mutually exclusive because the reducer minimizes gloss. I'll pm Magnetman.
