Do the shackles weld only on the face of the bumper or do they go all the way thru? Seems a little weak if just on the face.

See the vertical slots in the bumper face? Those are were the dring's go. You can weld them front and back.

I am VERY interested in this.
Do you have plans to make a DIY front winch bumper for the TJ, such as you have for the XJ?
Otherwise it appears that the one shown here will accept a winch mounting plate, yes?

We don't plan to offer a winch ready option. We don't expect these to be high selling units, so we wanted to limit the options, so we could limit what we have to stock.
However, you can use any aftermarket winch plate with the bumper

got my front one welded...first time welding (MIG) so I got a lot of grinding to do. I'm pretty sure they are going to look a little rough, but I built them myself and don't care The back one will look immensely better now that I know what I'm doing (sort of), but I want to get the front painted and mounted before starting on it. Will put some pics here when done.
As advertised and easy to build...sense of accomplishment and saving of $$$. Love it
Thanks brimy.

Hopefully be finishing up the fitment and welding on the rear tomorrow...rear is definitely more work than the front, especially if the 2 bottom bolts are rusted/seized so badly that you have to cut one off
