Artec Industries' NEW JK UNDER ARMOR is designed to give your Jeep JK Wrangler full protection underneath the vehicle. Designed using CAD files directly from the manufacturer, this belly pan skid plate ensures that you have a great fit with factory components. Made from 1/4" thick 6061 Aluminum and 3/16" Zinc-plated Steel, and CNC cut and formed, the Artec JK Under Armor Kit offers both a strong and lightweight solution for the heavy Jeep JK.
  • 1/4" 6061 Aluminum for skid plates, 3/16" zinc plated steel for bracketry
  • Designed from factory CAD files for great and precise fit.
  • CNC laser cut and CNC formed using custom rolled dies for high strength and a unique look.
  • All bolts under skid plate are countersunk for absolutely smooth bottom
  • All nuts are pressed into steel brackets for easy, one tool removal
  • Modular design lets you take off only one section for vehicle servicing
  • Protects Oil Pan, Transmission Pan, Gas Tank, Front Exhaust and Transfer Case
  • No removal of gas tank needed, simply bolt in place
  • Works best with Artec JK Heavy Duty Crossmembers*
  • Clearanced near rear drive yoke shaft to prevent rubbing

*All models requires exhaust modification - Y-pipe. Loop delete if using long arm HD crossmember with link mounts.
2 Door Versions Coming Soon! All versions available currently only as complete kits. Individual skid plates will be available for purchase at a later date.

There have been some concerns on why we have chosen Aluminum for our Skid Plates. Here are a few of the reasons:

1. Lighter - The aluminum skid system at 1/4" vs. steel at 3/16" is still 30% lighter. With the JK already starting out as a heavy vehicle, any weight saving while still protecting is best.

2. Elasticity - Aluminum bends 5 times further than steel before rupture. So even though it may deform, it takes a lot more for the aluminum than steel.

3. Rust Prevention - Aluminum creates it's own corrosion resistant coating that regenerates itself. Steel requires powder coating or other surface protection and constant maintenance to keep the rust at bay.

Just an update to the progress. All parts are currently being manufactured. It took longer than we originally anticipated when we set the Aug. 22nd preorder shipment date over a month and a half ago. They won't be ready in three days but everything is finalized so we are cooking now. I won't know the exact ship date because we need to send the steel parts to get zinc plated and sometimes they are fast and sometimes they take longer, but as soon as they give me a finish date, you'll know about it. I will do what I can to get them as fast as possible. I anticipate a week to week and a half from Friday until they are done. We apologize for the delays but in the end, you will have a much better product due to the great feedback we received here. We'd rather get it absolutely right than rush it.
