I'm not sure if anyone have checked the numbers on automobile-catalog.com

but explains why some gets bad surprises with their mpg.

Also the drag coefficient isn't good (0.38).

Both for 2WD
MPG:

2.4L ; 3.2L

extra-urban 22.2-28.4 ; 19.3-24.6
city 14-17.9 ; 11.2-14.3
highway 20.4-24.8 ; 18.6-22.7
average combined 20.5 ; 17.1

Source: http://www.automobile-catalog.com/auta_perf1.php (3.2L)
http://www.automobile-catalog.com/auta_perf1.php (2.4 L)

Bought gas today. Really not to bad considering that we have had a foot of snow and now it's MINUS -15 degrees out. Most of this tank I was in Snow mode too!

332.7 miles on 14.908 gallons of gas. EVIC says 23.5 MPG and the pencil says 22.3 all in 13:59 hours.

Total is 3580.3 miles at 23.9 MPG

Did I mention that I wish I had a bigger tank?

Are you still basically at 50/50 driving?

Between the snow and the cold my route has been a little different. With things back to normal and the boy back in school I was hoping to be back on track next week. I want to check miles from home to work noting how many are highway and how many are street exactly. Will get numbers next week.

I have to admit that I am surprised at the MPG for the last two tanks. Really cold and was using the snow mode quite a bit. Didn't seem to change anything...

Bought gas today. 338.2 miles with 14.049 gallons of gas for an EVIC 24.6 MPG. Pencil says 24.07 MPG. Not to bad.
Total since new is 4253.8 miles for 24.3 MPG.

NH Patriot: Got a chance to reset miles for a normal day. One way is highway 28.8 miles in 28:07 minutes for an average of 60 Miles Per Hour with the EVIC showing 34.5 MPG! on the highway followed by 4.6 Miles in 27:28 minutes for an average of about 6 Miles Per Hour with the EVIC showing 18.6 MPG.

Total one way usual trip equals 33.4 Miles with 28 on the highway and 4.6 in the city. Looks like my 50/50 thought was based on time and not miles. Pretty amazing that the highway portion showed 34.5 MPG!!!

If that is a normal commute it is amazing that you get the MPG you are. 27+ minutes to go just 4 miles is a MPG killer. That right there is some serious city gridlock. When the time comes where you can do an all highway trip( vacation or something ) I bet you see over 30 MPG if you keep it to 60 MPH.

Be VERY HAPPY with your 22-23 MPG average if that 27+ minute/4 mile segment is part of your normal daily commute. Man that is brutal on MPG.

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Bought 14.37 gallons of gas after 305.7 miles for an EVIC MPG of 24.5

Total since new is 4589.7 miles at 24.8 MPG

I had to reset both trip meters today. This may be the last total MPG number. It looks like the average MPG that shows while driving is set on the total and I wanted a fresh look now that I have close to 5000 miles.

If anyone reading this (If anyone is...) did you get the tech package? If so, did you notice that in the snow you get a lot of false readings? Constant beeping and brake warnings for no reason? Is it time to take it to the dealer or was it just the snow? The sensors get blocked very easy when the weather is bad.

Maybe a trip to the dealer.

@Btbean, is your ACC kind of brave? It feels like the Jeep is speeding up when it should be stopping. It still stops on time, but very last minute. Kind of scary. Remember, I had this option before on my Lincoln so it is not new to me. The jeep just seems 'braver'?

Is there a way to monitor the current gear as it shifts? The only way i can tell what gear i am in is when i switch to tiptronic, but this only shows me the gear when i switch to it, and the transmission still seems to shift on its own in this mode, and the gear doesn't change.

On the Grand Cherokee there is a setting in the evic that will enable it to display the current gear.

I havent noticed any issues with the ACC on mine but I am new to it, so I dont have any previous experience to gauge from.
