Incoming text

I have looked on other sites and still cant get a definitive answer. My 5.0 system( in my 2016 KL) was working great, had no issues pairing with my Iphone 5s and then I realized I wasn't getting any incoming text messages. I tried deleting the phone and repairing etc but to no avail. I've turned on damn near everything in the phone that may prevent texts from being displayed on the 5.0 system. Today I went to the dealer and was told that it was due to my Uconnect trial version expiring. Other KL owners have stated that they have had the feature for several years w/o having to pay Uconnect for a subscription. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks

First, there is no "uConnect Trial Version". That is patently ridiculous. Did you try going into the UConnect entry in Bluetooth settings and making sure the Allow Notifications settings is green? That's the only thing I can think of.

Hi coltar15,

xtheunknown beat me to it! Definitely make sure the allow notifications setting is on. Also, if you deleted pairings, make sure they were deleted from both the phone AND the radio, and then re-paired. There also is such a thing as a trial period for Uconnect Access, but I don't know that that is what is affecting you in this case.

I responded to your thread on Jeep Garage, told you it was bogus and that your dealer is full of s**t..

Kori is correct. There is a trial of uConnect Access, but you don't need it to get text messages to display on your uConnect.

Thanks. I appreciate the input. From now on no gas for the Jeep after midnight! I should have known the dealer was going to try to "sell" something. Maybe that's why I had my XJ for 27 years and did all my own work.
