Audio Control Peeve

4 cyl, Latitude 4x4, Uconnect 8.4A RA3.

My pet peeve is that everytime I adjust the speaker balance to my preference, (2) clicks to rear and (2) clicks to left, I have to reset the balance after I shut off the vehicle.

Same for others? Can't it be changed and left how I want? Can I change the default to my preference?

Other than that I'm a happy guy? Except I miss my Wrangler : (

Gonna be a different kinda summer.

Steve

I haven't played with my audio controls so I really don't know. I have the same 8.4 system.

There is a firmware update available that may correct your issue. https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do

Yeah, there are common issues it seems like with all of these radios. That is why they are coming out with new software weekly for one system or another.

I had the same issue with the 8.4an.

Was solved with the latest update. Sometimes if I goto the audio controls it shows it's faded way back and to the left. But if I close out and go back it's in the right position.

Basically it removers now but sometimes the screen shows the wrong setting.

I have the Limited with RA4 and I just did the 13.48.3 update for viaMobile. My audio controls stay the same, but after I did the update, they defaulted to far back left (all the way left and rear). I don't know if this is a check sum they use in their programming for the button location, or if it is a quirk in the update.

Update.

Did the firmware update and it took care of the speaker balance problem.

Now, though, the unit doesn't hold the "shuffle" setting when listening to music on a SD card. Didn't have to hit the shuffle button every time I listened to media music before. Ehh.....could be worse things.

Next firmware update perhaps? Jeep/Chrysler? UConnect? Hmmm?

Thats funny because 2 updates ago they fixed the shuffle issue. It is still there in my wifes but that is a ra2 radio.

You have to dowload it from the uconnect site to a usb stick and install from that. Fairly simple as long as you follow the pdf on the site

Exclamation

What would be extremely helpful in this thread is two things!

#1) What MODEL radio does your Cherokee have ? (Three letter designation)

#2) What VERSION of the software/update are you using or reporting on ?

Not having this information is VERY confusing for the readers.
