Oct. High Lakes Run

Ok here we go again. We will try to do high lakes run again. Last weekend in Oct. 27-28.

here is where it is on google maps to give everyone an idea.
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q...ed=0CEYQ_AUoAg

Here is some info: Friends of The High Lakes - Portal

This will be a moderate to difficult run. So not just the fire roads we have done. I don't know if stock rigs will be able to do it. Will have more info on that next week when Droze and I go out.

I'm in! My heep will be a few inches taller by then and might even have some bigger rubber if everything goes right!

IMO 85% of the trails up there can be driven with a stock to slightly modified 4x4. There are sections that no doubt need a built rig. Depending on where you all camp, everyone could make it to a central camp spot and branch out from there with the closer to stock rigs going and watching the harder sections.

If I'm not chasing ducks, I may run up there for the day on Saturday.

We'll be camping for sure. My new oil pan skid and 2" lift should be here by the end of the week. I'm going to pick up some new tires and wheels tomarrow and I should finish up my custom light bar next week sometime. Now I just need to find a little trailer to start building!

Oh, uhmmm... Gene?

Does that make me a volunteer or a draftee?

I'm taking being included in this run as a compliment. Dunno yet if the nod is for the heep or its owner. Either way, sounds like fun. Would this be a meet on Friday Night - slash - get an early start kinda thing, or another meet-on-Saturday morning?

Lemmee check the shedd-dule (for the benefit of our most worthy English Brethren) and see if the weekend is already booked for DHFC (Daughters Home From College), PNLC (Parents Needing Love and Care), SAPC (Suddenly Acquired Prior Commitments) from the wife, or possible job interference due to changing work hours (long story, by then you'll know what's going on).

Be fun doing a little bump and gear-grind again. It's been too long...

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.

To break up the long drive I was thinking about camping Friday night at Lake Oroville if anyone else is interested.
