You do too! Middle Creek Campground at the base of Elk Mt. Follow Elk Mt road past Upperlake. Where all the moto-x bikes go. Ringing a bell now?

There are a couple spots along Elk Mt road on the way to Middlecreek Campground where you can enter into the creekbed and follow it north toward the campground and them past it and up the mountain until it probably chokes off and is impassable. There's supposed to be a trail that eventually heads up to High Glade (remember the lookout tower).

I was wondering if you could get a Jeep into Middle Creek. Where the camp ground is with the M/C it looks like they made it just wide enough for the bikes. But yes..... down stream you can get into the creek!!

You can't get into the creekbed at the campground with a jeep, but a few miles south on Elk Mt road, there is an entry where you can just drive right down.

I've seen a couple of place that you might be able to get into the creek bed. Unless they have a gate or cable across it, there is one that is pretty close to the camp ground. I think they might even have a couple of horse in a corral right near there on the right side.

That's the one I was thinking of. There's also one that big trucks go down to get rock.

Which would be better, Thursday, July 4, or Saturday, July 6?

6th would be way better for me, however the 5th could work if I take the day off. 4th I can't do unless I convince the gf to come along (assuming she's not working until 7pm (silly nurses thinking people need medical care)) since it would be an all day thing.

I personally would not be in the woods on the weekend of the 4th. Too many idiots with fireworks. This year is already looking bad. You all that are going have fun and be safe. Remember head for the black, it can't burn twice.
