Damn.... A guy at work blew out his hernia. "Oops! Sez the Doc, it's not a hernia, it's a muscle tear, so no operation." He will be off work for about ten months, so it looks like I am working nights for a while to come. Bummer, gotta bow out of the Cow-Clean-up and the 2nd Annual Cow Run.

Drat!!!!! Here I am, ready to hit Cow at a moments notice, and I keep missing it by 24 hours. Grrrr....

Oh, well, thats the life I signed up for. Gotta pay the mortage and tuition.... (sigh)

So, Uhmmm... who's up for a someday Sunday day-trip on Cow?

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.

But we meet on the Lake County side. It's about a 3hr drive for you.

"follow at your own risk" or "trail? What trail? We don't need no stinking trail"

Just remember, the run starts on the Lakeport side (as per the first post of this thread).

That said, the obstacle course is closer to the Ukiah side.... about 20 minutes from the 101 freeway. Take the Talmage exit, turn right on Talmage road, drive a couple miles until you see the City of Ten Thousand Buddha’s (can't miss it, it's *right* in front of you), turn right there on to East Side Road, the turn left about 1/4 mile later onto Mill Creek Road. Then just head up Mill Creek Road and follow the signs. You'll pass a couple small ponds and the ORV off-loading area along the way.

bb2..... we will hook up again, if it's the last thing I do.

BTW.... anybody who wants to see my new long-term project (yeah, right.... in all the spare time I have), check out this thread:

At least I can work on her on the weekdays. Gunna be a labor of love.

What kind of trails are we talking about?

Me and the old CJ might try and make the trip up (3 hour drive from Concord)
But I need to wheel easy, it's old and crusty, and needs to make the drive back south on its own power.
It's never been out and about yet, and I am working the bugs out daily. Just got it a few months ago.
As of right now, no cb, no spare tire, Leakey rear axel seals, bad back brakes do to the leaky seals.
304 carb, bald front tires, good rears, lockers..
Second thought that might be a 3.5 hour drive for me.. Tops out around 60mph.

Depending on what trails you take, you'll face bigger challenges just making the trip up. You can still see some pretty country staying on the main road. Of course, if you want to test your rig's limits..... you can literally get as wild as you want. It is up to you, but you will be with good folks who won't tell you "Yeah, go for it--- you can make it!".

We all have to drive our rigs home again, and make our choices accordingly. From what I have seen of this group, it's a pretty safe and sane bunch.

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.
