Round two folks! I thought we'd give it another try and see what kind of trouble we can get into! Provided the gates are open and it's not raining, we will meet up at the Kmart parking lot in Lakeport at 9:30 AM Saturday morning with a 9:45ish departure to the trail head. Once at the trail head, we will break up into groups. The number of jeeps that attend will determine how many groups we will have. My plan is to offer 2 or 3 difficulty levels. We can do "Easy" "Moderate", and "Difficult", or something to that effect. Suggestions on this are welcome. We have plenty of time to plan, so I'm hoping to make this run better than last year.

A couple of volunteers and myself will be executing scouting runs between now and the run date to map trails that will work for said difficulty levels. For those that have never been to Cow Mt., it is an OHV area maintained by the BLM. I use the term "maintained" loosely because many of the trails have been neglected over the years. The website provided below has a map of the area and trail difficulty ratings. These ratings are not exactly true to form anymore. This is why we will be scouting trails to get a better idea of difficulty, and whether they are too overgrown with brush.

At the end of the day, we will all hopefully meet up at the obstacle course on the Ukiah side of the area. There are campsites near by for those who would like to camp, or a short drive into Ukiah will provide hotels off the 101 corridor.

Here are a few highlights from last years run....

Cavavan to the trailhead.

Staged at the trail head.

Playing around in the creek bed.

Lined up at the obstacle course.

Joan aka "Goldie Locker" has a lot of experince of running a chain saw cutting brush. She did a lot last year at the ranch when I had shoulder surgery. I got spoiled. Wait!! I think my shoulder is starting to hurt again. I'll drive the Jeep for her and carry the beer.

I'm in I have it on the calender. I would be willing to attend a pre-run/trail clearing session as well. Have saws I will bring, and maybe a nephew to help clear brush.:) I'll catch up to you though so tell me what time you will leave so I can make sure to be a few hours behind.:D

Would like to participate in any scouting and brush cleaning pre-trips. Dunno what my free time will be on any given weekend at this point, but if I can I'll be there.

Anybody want to get together for a fab-fest and build some out-rigged seats for the saw bearers ala "Hatari" style? :D

Gunna head up there today for a couple hours. My brothers and I decided this morning that we need to get away from it all, as this has been an especially hard couple of weeks for my family. :(

Maybe do some plinking at the range. Red jeep, white hard top. If you see it, stop and say howdy.

Rangers weren't there a year ago when my boys and I passed a pair of guys shooting a select fire AK. That's a technical term for full auto capable. I wouldn't care but I have a hard time believing that they had an ATF stamp for it. Now I am an avid shooter and a self proclaimed gun nut. If I had the money I would have class 3 arms. The thing is those that do it illegally make it harder for the rest of us who are willing to do it legally. I guess I wish that people would consider what the consequences of their actions would be. Thing are getting a lot harder on us. Well what ever side you shoot be safe and have fun. Remember the second keeps the first.

:highfive::wave::wave::wave: Sounds like a heck of an idea! I have a small 4' x6' utility trailer that I got to pull behind my jeep for camp stuff and my pontoon boat. I would bring that to haul stuff down to a dumpster. Make as many trips as I could in a day.
