It's been a while since I installed a video card but I just got rid of my old sli setup to a friend who needed a computer down in SD. I get I could still build one with all the parts I have lying around.

I've built three computers all for close friends and have yet to build my own. I wish I had money to dump towards a new processor and video card. I got a first series i7 and a gtx260 I think in her

Well after the card install I get CTD with Skyrim. Ahhh, so doing a fresh install as some textures are missing which I think is causing the crash, it was going fine til an elk with no textures ran by and crashed.

It does run super smooth though. Loving it. When I can play for more than 5 minutes anyways.

Ran slick rock yesterday, someone went thru witha buggy and EFFED up most of the trail. Rocks are in the way, one is right at that tight corner with the tree and rock squeeze, well that rock was moved about 2 feet towards the tree so it was hard for the Jk jeeps to get by. LOTS of trail is torn up and destroyed, some trees are dug up and huge dirt holes from a vehicle spinning off the trail. It was real bad this time and sad to see. I noticed a sign that says no green sticker vehicles, doesn't that mean buggys? Anyways that buggy with oro structs that always has the kid passenger not buckled in was there and he was parked on a tree this time.

"Good" people don't pay attention to rules. I'm a stickler for them.

Anyone keeping track of the Rim fire? It went from 10k acres to 16k over the night. The next town over was issued a warning to be ready to leave if the wind shifts. The smoke changed teh color of the moon and sun and I got a few nice pictures.

I've been listening to NPR and getting updates. They shared the figures on how much it is costing and thankfully the (broke) Fed is picking up the tab.

I don't care how much it costs, but that money isn't doing much right now. Overnight 16k acres to 54k acres and from 5% containment to 2%. Too bad I'm going out of town for the next few days.

Stopped by the recruiter yesterday and he wasn't in, so walked into army for a short chat. Sounds like a nice deal but I think I'm sticking with Marines.

Since I could remember growing up, my dad a Marine during the Korean War, told me "son, don't ever join the Marines, its nothing but spics and ni****s" ya he's a racist. My whole life growing up with him being a hard *** and teaching me and treating me like a Marine Boot, I heard that.

So I'm 17, hate school, an not looking forward to college. On a whim I take the ASFAB on a Saturday and score very well. I get all the recruiters on my jock, but I remember what my dad said "don't join the marines". So, at 17 1/2 I sign a good deal for guaranteed airborne infantry with college funds with the Army. Go home with my paperwork, and announce over dinner my decision.

What does that old bastard say? "Why didn't you join the Marines?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHGAAHAHAHGAHAHAHAH

About 7 months later when I showed up in my dress uniform with my jump boots and beret, he was impressed. He said the toughest guy he knew in his small town was a man that had returned from service in the 82nd Airborne. So it all ended well.

I had a similar experience. I was 17 and about halfway throug my junior year in high school and decided that I didn't like authority figures telling me what to do. Joining the army was about on par with that type of logic and attitude at the time. I was a much different person when I returned from Ft Knox for my senior year. The army then is a different army than today. Everything is politics now and with the cutbacks, every unit that I have seen is like a sinking ship with rats clawing their way to the top to survive.

Can't pass a PT test? Gone.
Any active profile? Gone
Haven't made specialist in 4 years? Gone
Bad day at the range? Gone.

The military is culling left and right. Unless you're looking for just four years and GI bill out of it, don't bother.

Bad Day at the Range? *****, that was the definition of me. I never qualified expert with the M16 or A2. That's why they sent me to Mortars! You don't need to be accurate with a 20 meter kill radius.
