Bummer, I'd be down if the wife didn't have a art show in SF on the 26th. I'm setting up a run to frank Raines or if that's a bust then hollister on November 2. You should come out to that as well.

Is there anywhere I can run my spare XJ til it falls apart? I bought it for parts and am done with it, if it wasn't for the $600 in back DMV fee's plus failing of smog I might keep it.

I have 5 Jeeps now so I know a thing or two about them but like anyone else I still need help figuring things out time and again. Right now I'm having issues with my 88' XJ, it passed smog runs good and strong off road but once you get over 55 mph there is no power accelerating, anyone local can help out? Did I mention I have a full shop with tools to work on Jeeps?

As for your tech issue? Function-check your TPS with an analogue ohmmeter or voltmeter. (A DMM won't react quickly enough, due to buffer circuits in most of them.)

You should see the output voltage or the internal resistance vary smoothly with the throttle blade angle.

This is a common issue with RENIX. Although, it usually manifests as a "flat spot" in throttle response specifically - although, if you have an auto, the AW4 shifting signal is derived partially from TPS input, so a blown TPS can screw with shifting.

(You can also function test the TPS as running by changing the gear range you hit 55MPH in - since TPS output is a function of throttle blade angle.)

I think I may be free that weekend. If I can get my tire carrier mounted by then I'd be down if you can find a couple people
