Any Jeepers in the London Area

I'll be moving to the UK in a few months and was curious if there are any cool places to wheel. I'll be moving about 1.5-2 hrs west of London.

From what I've heard from friends in UK, the taxes, fuel and insurance costs are so high in UK that cars like Jeeps are often not affordable for people who want them. They ofcourse have Range Rovers and other SUVs around but those are mostly driven by rich people who don't care about offroading. By this info I would make a conclusion that there might not be so many official offroad tracks and parks around there as you would find in some other countries but I'm sure you can still find some. If someone finds my information to be totally wrong, please let me know as well I was also very surprised when I heard it.

I have moved to Lechlade which is sort of between Swindon and Cirencester. I got here in August. Sometime this month I need to get the Tax/MOT done on it as well as the new windscreen put in. Where about do you live? I don't worry about fuel that much. I get mine on base at the US national average.

Hope you have found places to wheel by now but check out and join Birtys at www.birtydastardsjeepclub.com.

Given the size of the UK there is quite a bit of wheeling to be done especially North England and Wales.

I found a club near here to wheel with, but I broke a drive shaft so it will be a bit before I can wheel.

Thanks for the link. I'll check em out.
