My road to competing

My friend has decided to compete in bodybuilding this coming spring. All of his friends and his father who used to body build have been pushing him to do so. He is naturally big and lean and really just needs to focus to be very very good.

This is where I come in. He said the only way he will do is if his dad gets back on stage, and if I do it with him. Granted I'll be in a different class since I'm much smaller, but I have agreed to do it. The intense diet and training starts NOW.

This thread will mainly be a picture and motivation thread as I already have a training thread. If anyone has any advice, tips or motivation, PLEASE post them.

I will be posting before pics later today.

What diet will you be on?
What will your macros be?
What weight class will you compete?

If you're competing in spring, then you have roughly 5 months to add mass and get shredded. What's your plan?

My friends dad is developing a plan for each of us and I haven't gotten it yet. Right now I'm going with the chicken, brown rice, and veggies approach. Egg whites and oatmeal, maybe some protein muffins for snacks, lots of shakes. Lots of cardio.

Edit: don't know what weight class. At the NPC event yesterday they had a true novice category that I don't think had weight classes. Just first timers. That's probably the only one id try.

That stuff all seems pretty standard.

Don't forget deadlifts. Shows are won with strong backs.

Bulking. And I will be deadlifting. I should see great results from it since I took some time off from them.

Doing a little bit of head math, if I lose 10% body fat (16.5lbs), and gain no muscle (to make the math easy), I would be at 148.5 comp weight at around 5-10% BF maybe, don't know for sure. That should put me in the lightweight category.
