Hit the weights pretty good tonight. I hit failure on every muscle group I worked. Had a good workout on the 45* leg press. I racked up 270# on it for my last set. For a guy with a busted hip and bionic ankle, I feel pretty good and didn't wanna hurt myself further. My buddy showed up tonight claiming he wasn't contagious and then yacked at the end. Looks like I'm gonna be in for a two day unscheduled weight loss plan.

That's about what I do on leg press before my knee hurts me. Are you squatting as well?

Yes but the racked weight isn't even close to what I can put on the sled. I still have to move me when I squat.

Skipped the gym tonight. Ate a lot instead. My abs are killing me from last night's workout. Everything else is fine. Except the calves. I'm going to pick different muscle groups and work them out on alternate days.

I'm just gonna lump abs in with my cardio days for the next two weeks. I can do calves so my entire leg isn't sore every day, just half every other day.

But seriously, my energy levels are through the roof compared to a few months ago when I was over 260#. I'm so much more motivated to get up and do things now and have the energy to complete them. I should have done this years ago. On another note, I found myself doing rifle PT alone at the gym with the weighted 12lb sticks. Its the only weighted workout I did from before a month ago.

Proud of you Anticanman. This is a great section on forum to help others live a healthier lifestyle. Just like you help us yjers in the yj section such as myself. My yj wouldn't look the way it does today without this forum's help.

Haven't updated this in a couple days. I broke my index finger on Friday and it makes it very difficult to do anything with weights. I have tried to keep at it with cardio and my weight is fluctuating from 217-225. Guess it depends on the day. I also weighed myself at the gym and it seems my scale is off by a few pounds to flatter me. Either way: I've lost 50 and it was all fat. I'm gonna go have dinner at a restaurant for the first time in a long time. Consequences be damned. I will have to work it off at the gym later tonight.

**** it. Everyone needs to splurge now and then. It's damn near impossible to keep a prefect diet and perfect workout plan. Besides, food=calories and calories=energy. All ya gotta do is go burn em off

I'm passing on the gym tonight. I did hit a new milestone for my chicken legs on the incline leg press last night. 315# is my new best for a last set of 8 reps. Then I killed myself going to leg extensions on the machine I lovingly call Satan's Butthole. That gets the burn in the quads for sure. I hold one second in the extended position and slowly come back down. I'm making sure to not throw my knee out by limiting the range of motion with weight on it. Bodybuilding.com has some great tips to not get hurt and do the exercise properly.

Back to laziness: I'm just tired and have a long, wet day on a tractor tomorrow. I need the sleep.

I ran out of my protein powder the other day and picked up two 2lb tubs from rite aid for $30. I have been a fan of vanilla as I add it to my food (oatmeal is amazing with vanilla protein powder) but I now have a chocolate powder for my post workout as well. Now, I'm a little confused on something. My brother gave me some musclepharm BCAA's to take after a workout. So I have been and never had a shake. When do I take the BCAA's vs the protein shake or both? Post workout I can handle about 40g of protein and otherwise I have been taking about 25g servings every three hours throughout the day. Where do these BCAA's fit in or replace that bit of caloric protein?
