Gym Clowns

We all either know someone or have see someone in the gym who just makes a complete fool out of themselves. Share some of your experiences with the so called "gym clowns".

This one time I was resting between sets, this guido came up to me and was all like "yo how come dere ain't no hot *****es in this place?" And I just looked at him and said "The clubs downtown *** hole, the gym is for lifting" he just walked away.

Small guys giving bigger guys advice on lifting and bulking up usually qualify as clowns to me.

Definitely. Or people that insist they're right when they're not.

Anybody that tries to talk to me generally annoys me. I give them 90 seconds, then the brush off. It's not a social club.

But what annoys me most are the poser/show-off/check-to-see-if-she's-looking types.... they'll use the 50lbs dumbbells for 4 reps of the worst form curls I've ever seen and then carry them all the way around like hunting dog carrying a pheasant. They need weights they can use, let those of us who need them have them.

And these clowns need to get off the damn machines when they're done!!! They probably drive slow in the left lane too!

I also hate when you ask people how many sets they have left and they say something like "I'll be done when I'm done". Like okay I get you're in the zone but it's just a number.

That made me laugh. No need for hard asses.

Also dudes who walk around with a permanent lat spread. It's okay to exhale bro. Lol

And guys who think they're huge but don't workout legs.

I laugh when dudes have a huge upper body but legs smaller than a chicken lol. I also frown upon folks trying to teach others that don't really knw how to lift yet and they teach them the wrong forms. Talking about setting them up for failure.

There's too many clowns to count at my gym, from the stuck up crossfitters (they look down on everyone in my gym), to the guys who go from machine to machine not knowing how to even use them.

I also find it pretty funny seeing all the big arse dudes with legs smaller then my forearm

Almost forgot about the fatasses who can bench press 405 and walk around like they're hard.

It ain't hard to bench 400 hundred when you weigh 300 pounds. Lol.

There are three obese guys at my gym who literally only workout chest and triceps. :-)

Not everyone is a body builder. Maybe you only ever see them do chest and tris. Maybe they're getting ready to compete. Lots of reasons to be in a gym, very few reasons to laugh at anyone.

I was a "fatass" and loved it. Threw around huge weights and ate what I wanted and lifted around the country.

Now I'm trying to get into strongman and have cut weight, and its funny what people say... as if I finally figured out how to use the gym.

Benching 133% of your bodyweight makes you stronger than the vast majority of folks out there.

Get off my lawn.

I totally agree with you. If I benched 133% of my body weight I'd be a beast. Regardless of my weight.

Another thing that irritates me...when dudes stand in front of the mirror right in front of me. I was doing dumbell bench and trying to watch my form and this guy literally stood right in front of me doing curls. Like he was trying to show off or something I don't know. I get it if the gym is super crowded, but there's no one at the gym at 9am when I go.

I'm 170 and I bench 315. Idk what percentage that is but that is well more then the majority of people my age can do, hell even at my gym.
