Leg day today. Great day. Then I went and rode some more trail/MX. My tire got a ****ing flat and I don't know why.

Question about goals here...is it a realistic possibilty to 10rep bench 185lbs sometime in July if I can rep 135 right now?

Gives me roughly 4 months. Really my end goal is to rep 225 but that'll take awhile between bulking and cutting.

One of my friends started going to the gym with me some. He's 5'7 145 pounds.

Started benching 95 pounds...The other day (about 2 months later) he's at 155.


I'd say you can do it within 2 months. Make sure you have a spotter and really push yourself.

Would you recommend benching 2 times a week (ex. Monday/Wednesday) or just 1 time a week?

If you want to do more than once a week you need more rest than two days. Something like mon/fri.


Bench is a lot more than just chest though. Don't fall into the trap of neglecting back, shoulders, arms, etc. **** even legs helps release testosterone and growth hormone so it indirectly could help your bench.

A split such as the following might be beneficial:
Mon...chest and tris
Tues...back and bis
Wed...legs
Thurs...shoulders
Fri...chest
Weekend rest

If you do it twice a week I would make Monday your heavy day and Friday your pump/rep day. That doesn't mean go light...it just means focus on blood flow not weight

Hell yea. Great night at the gym. Repped out 135 for 10, 8, 5 then close gripped 115 for 8 and 10 on the bench. Then some flys and DB bench.
