Cassie's Log/Transformation

Okay figure I'll play along. This is embarassing but I think its something I need to get over.

I've always been overweight, since I was in elementary school. I was always somewhat athletic, playing soccer and basketball, riding bikes, rollerblading with my friends. I was never skinny however I did have an "athletic build." When I went into high school I moved about 4 hours away. I stopped playing sports and I ballooned. When I graduated highschool in 2009 I was 5'7" and over 230 pounds. I wore a womens size 18 in jeans.

I started working at a barn and lost probably 20 pounds. Size 16 for a while.

I finally had enough and started eating clean and following the p90x program, which I did off and on in 2011-2012 and got down to a size 10. 165-170 pounds.

I took a break from hard exercise and in January of 2013 started Shaun T's Insanity. I'm in my recovery week now and feeling pretty good. My goal is to lose what I have left of my stomach. Hopefully get into a size 8 jeans and around 150 pounds. (Hard to guess weight because of muscle mass blah blah)

Long story Short....
2009
230+ Lbs
Size 18
Very high body fat percentage

2013 [Work in progress]
161 Lbs
Size 10
25.3% Body Fat

I'm not dead set on sizes or weight for goals. I just want to be happy with my body.

I'll keep you up to date and keep you informed of my progress.
(I will also add pics later)

Thanks for reading. Dig deep, then dig deeper

As long as you're confortable with your body, that's all that matters. Nice job so far, Cass

I'm going to use this as a log. Just to give myself some accountability. Read if you want, skip it if you don't.

I'm going to go back to trying the Insanity Elite Nutrition Plan. Without carbs I'm starting to dog it through my workouts. I'm going to limit them to the beginning of the day but try to eat some. Shaun T says trust the plan so I'm going to do just that.
Breakfast is a piece of whole wheat toast, slice of low fat cheese and an egg plus a bottle of water and some black coffee.

Last day of recovery week workouts today then month two starts

I can tell when I eat ****ty the day after. For example yesterday I had MAD MUNCHIES and I'm not the type that likes to snack on junkfood. But whenever I don't eat enough the day before I crave **** the day after. Weird how that works. My goal for today is to get enough to eat of clean, workout fueling food.

Eat to live, don't live to eat. Food should be fuel, not a luxury.

I don't see why he would say no carbs. That means no whole grains, no fiber. Seems odd.

No he says carbs! Just whole grains, brown rice, complex carbs, yada yada. I cut out carbs to help drop weight. But it left me feeling sluggish so I'm going back to following his plan.

I gotcha! The only way carbs add weight is if you don't use them. They're energy yielders, so if you don't use them, they get stored as sugars. But since you're doing insanity, you'll burn that **** right off!

Yeah that's why I figured I would only eat them up until I workout in the day. No carbs after because I'm less likely to burn them off. Not sure if scientifically thats correct but its my theory haha

I think that's a safe plan. Just make sure you're getting the required amount.

Okay here's some pictures. I don't have any good ones because I avoid cameras like the plague but its something to give you an idea.

2007-2008ish:

2009 (my heaviest):

May 2012:

October 2012:

Realllly bad picture but I took this just for reference, Pre-Insanity January 2013:

And two weeks into Insanity I was amazed what the squats were contributing; my *** and thighs are getting bigger... in a good way lol February 2013:

Awesome dinner tonight.

Brown rice sushi, roasted cauliflower and harvest vegetables. Gonna workout in a little bit, Core Cardio and Recovery and have a protein shake.

This recovery week was awesome. Went to the bar last night and even though I'm a little bloated and hung over this morning, my size tens are a little loose.
