I pretty much fell for the salesman speech. Kind of embarrassing for me.

The guy says that the Optimum you only get 70% (even though everything I have seen on reviews of it are awesome, along with what you have said) of the protein they adverstise and the one I got you get 90% because of isolate or something like that. Turns out I prolly just bought the store branded stuff. Once I finish it I will do a little more research before walking in. And maybe go to GNC instead of Total Nutrition. I do like the shaker bottle they had though.

Credit to you for getting off your *** and working for this. The addiction kicks in as soon as you start seeing true progress... it did for me anyway.

Good job boB!
I stated going to the gym again right before turkey day. I had the same attitude, if I don't do it now....

I was getting tired easily, snore to high heaven(Abnormal levels according to sleep study), apnea machine,....

I am now doing cardio ever morning and most days I will go after work also. I am currently still eating the same foods I have been, just less.

I am trying to get from 230 to 195. I'm hoping to make it by March.

I still have not set a goal.

Is that bad?

I first told the trainer I want to look good naked. I don't like having weight number goals. Also thinking about maybe a jean size goal. I guess I just want to look good and feel good. The goal almost sounds like if I get there I stop.

The only goals I do are weights for exercises. Like just last week I got 225 on deadlift and 135 on bench. Two goals I've been trying for for awhile. I like your idea of just wanting to look good. Because, hey, you might not look like you wanted to at your goal weight.

Also a good idea. Then if you decide you want to be more muscular just hit the weights harder.

I was 17. A good "fighting" weight for me was 220. But I was also 20 years old, so I really don't see that as realistic without circumcision.

I am just going for looking good and not having a hard time finding clothes. It is hard look dapper in jeans with an elastic waist.

Had a good night at the gym last night. Increased all the weights or increased reps, sometimes both. My trainer was not there so I had the head trainer in with me. Truth be told he is the one setting up all the exercises and keeps track of my progression, just don't actually see him as often. He told me that I was progressing well and could already tell I was thinning down in the belly. I told him that he must say that to all the girls.
Wednesday is my regular workout day, but being New Years I moved it to Friday. It has been about a month, so we are going to take some measurements and see how well I have been doing. I am pretty excited about that. Also, I talked with him about the goal. He said we will set one after this measurement. He did like the idea of just using the body fat % number for my goals right now.

Went to the gym last night because New Years really whipped me. Felt lethargic and blah new years day.
Felt decent last night so I got on the exercise bike. I was about 30 secs in and thought I would hit the fat burner button on the machine. I usually just pedal with no program. My heart rate is usually around 100, but with the fat burner is was steady at 120 for the 20 min. And my legs were feeling it.

After that I just hit a few of the machines to wake up the pretty muscles. Bench press, shoulder press, cable row. I was ready to go, football was about to start, but the wife wasn't done, so I just went back to the bike. I wasn't planning on doing much since I have the trainer tonight and we are going to do measurement, WHOO HOO.
wish me luck

Took measurements

1" off the belly
1" off the waste and hips
Lost 9 lbs
1.2% off of body fat percentage.

Happy about the lbs. I felt like the belly and waste should have been lower but nothing to judge that other than how I feel. Had no idea what to expect on body fat but trainer says that is huge. Sometimes I can't tell if he is honest or motivating/encouraging.

Overall, I am happy with progress. Not sure if I can expect this every month, whether or not this rate increases or if this is the biggest gainer month being the first month.
