YJ Windshield Hinge Light Brackets

I am getting my YJ ready to paint this weekend and decided to make a pair of window hinge light brackets.

I used 3/16" metal that I had left over from another project. They are welded to the hinges on the bottom side. They were easy and fun to make. I think I had about an hour and a half from start to finish designing, making and painting the finished project. Once I paint (Monstaline) them; they will look pretty good.

Pattern on a piece of paper:

Transfered to the steel:

Cut out with relief cuts for the bends (it isn't square, I had issues with the die cutter):

Making the bend for the lower support:

One bend completed:

Completed bracket:

Ready for welding:

Finished weld (cleaned up with a small grinder wheel):

Right side completed:

Finished pair:
