Just so y'all know I tacked up the driver's side and I got about half way done on the passenger's side. I will have picture updates tomorrow. I think, after looking at what I have, I will weld some of the tubing to the frame. If I do that these things are freaking bomb proof.

I will take pics tonight of what I have done. Driver's side is tacked in place and only needs to be final welded, ground down in some places and painted and it will be done. Passenger side still needs some tubing cut and welded then the same final stuffs. Like I said I will snap some pics tonight.

I hope your sandwich was good lol. When I got home from class tonight and got some grub I headed outside and cut and tacked up the remaining tubes to complete the passenger side. So as of right now I have both sides tacked in place. When it stops raining (not supposed to until after Thanksgiving) I will go out, fab them up with four bolts each and decide where I want to drill new holes, how long the tubes going to the frame will be, and decide if I want to change anything.

I put the driver's side on a jack and set them up against the body (sorry no pics of that). I gotta say I kinda like them. They may stick out just a little farther than what I imagined when I was drawing them on paper, but I will see for sure when I temporarily bolt them on. They're definitely different than a lot of pre-fabbed ones. Let me know what you think.

You should be able to click on that link and scroll through all of the pics on photobucket of this project. And FYI the pics look a little funny because I was using the long distance lens and I didn't notice until I was taking the pictures and since everyone was asleep I didn't dare go back inside until I was done for the night.

P/S -- what to you is a "long distance lens" ?

P/S/S ---- dont forget to pass-word your photobucket account - then put your postable pic's in one album with a sendable pass-word ---- this way when you have pic's of your pink dress and swim-fins - that will still be private ---- if you want ?

That account is used only for the Jeep so I really don't care that much haha. I plan on painting them with that rustoleum bed liner and probably get that tough stuff gasket.

Doesn't seem like too many people care about my slider/side step contraption any more lol, but for those who care I final welded and ground down both passenger and drivers side. I put some primer on them just to keep them sealed up while I cut the tubing that will go to the frame. I am going to weld a tab to the end of the tubing so I can bolt them to the frame and the body. As of now there are only four bolt holes on my angle; those holes match up with the four holes that the stock plastic steps bolted in to. I am going to use only those four holes while I measure and cut my "frame outriggers", then I will put a few more bolt holes in the angle.

I'm glad I bought all of the supplies a month back, because I just went Christmas shopping for the little lady and my buddy talked me into spending a little bit more than I was planning, but oh well. The link to get to the photobucket account is above, but here it is again....

Oh, there's a pic of something that I sprayed on my bench in white spray paint that I plan on spraying on my sides. Bonus points to anyone who recognizes it (if anyone is even looking at this thread anymore)

I hope you're gonna do some serious reinforcing on the sheet metal.

Yep. I am in the process of making the tubing that connects them to the frame and then cutting some left over angle to make a reinforcing strip that runs on the inside of the tub. Either that or some big gas fender washers on each bolt.
