Yj Roof Rack Build (warning! picture heavy)

I decided to build up a roof rack for my yj. I want a space were i can put stuff that is dirty or to big to fit in the jeep. Also made some snowboard straps for the whole thing too. here are the pics:

Here i started with a base.

Then doubled it.

Added some side bars.

Added the cross bar to the angled part.

Started with the "floor" of the rack.

Finished the "floor".

Added the supports for 5 front lights and 2 back lights.

Now we have paint.

Here it is on the jeep.

Now here is how i built the snowboard straps that will bolt onto the sides of the rack:

Started out with this. Bent up both sides about 5/16"

Cut another peice to weld over that with a hinge and a corner weld.

So far it looks like this.

Then i welded the latch for the lock, Cut the metal beetweem the latch, then painted. Added foam for comfort.

Heres how it will be on the board.

It looks like he just bolted it to teh hardtop...? I'd also like to see mounting pics, cause the hardtop can't take too much weight, and that rack's gotta weigh close to 50lbs on its own...
