YJ Rockcrawler Front Bumper

So after a year of getting made fun of cause my front bumper looked like a muststash. And cause i keep getting hung up while making tight turns. I decided to build me a new bumper.

So the before pic.

So trip to the local steel shop.
3/16 8x36 plate
3/16 4x36 two of those
3/16 5x16
3/16 2x36
3/16 4x14
3/4 3x4.5
Total cost with getting the hole drilled for the shackle tabs $90

Shackle tabs

Used the large 8x36in plate for up top and used my harbor fright winch plate as a templet. I over hung the plate past the frame 2"

Made two tabs that bolt on to the lower bolt underneath and ran the 2x36 across it. Then welded the two 4x36 plates at a 90degree and lined it up with the top plate. This did over hang underneath.

Cut out light holes

Boxed them in and drilled a 3/4 hole for the wires.

Fab the fairlead plate and burned it in. I know my welds dont look good there but all will work out.

Worked a little magic with a flap disc and some paint.

That is so much better!!!!! I like the mounting of the clevis tabs. Most people just cut them straight and weld them on flat where they can fail. Hope you welded everything on the inside as well since you ground off all the weld on the outside.
