YJ Coil Conversion!

Well I didn't really fabricate these but I'll be welding them on when the rest of my stuff gets here for my axle swap/coil conversion! What I got was upper and lower coil mounts with retainers, (8) 3/8" thick link tabs, 20 weld on skulls for some stuff I'm making a cool weld on shackle mount for my most recent bumper and a bangn new battery box for my yellow top optima. All of this stuff is from my new favorite vendor, Ballistic fab! There stuff is awesome! Super beefy mounts, killer prices and pretty good shipping. Check em out In the mail, I also have coming 4 1.25" johnny joints for frame side links, and (4) 7/8" heims from ruffstuff for the axle side, triangulated 4link brackets from K.O.R.E. are going to be ordered tomorrow along with some steel for my 8.8 truss I'm making. I never would have started this whole project had I not found pbb! Oh well, it should be fun and interesting. Really, the last thing I need is an sye. What vendor has the best prices for the aa sye?? Any of you guys running it? Good, Bad? Let me know

I went on AA website and picked up my SYE from their garage sale section or whatever it is. Was like $180 to my door

So many projects at one time on the jeep along with college in the summer, camping and work really is delaying my build! So I finished my rear bumper, finished my rocker guards, and put in my new battery tray from ballistic and now it is time to put in some work on the new axle. Took the calipers off, rotors, sway bar, brakelines and started to cut off the spring perches. I only had one cut off wheel left so I'll have to run to my welding shop tomorrow and get some more. Everything stopping related on the axle will be new so I don't have to worry about failures down the road..

Got a few more parts to the pile. Forgot I needed tube inserts and jam nuts since aluminum links aren't in the budget. DOH!! Again, these are from ballistic. These will be for the 1.25" Johnny joints that I'll be using frame side. The ones on the bottom are for my lower links which will be 2"o.d. .25" wall dom and the tops are for 1.75" .120 wall dom upper links. I also found some time in this 110 degree weather to cut off the brackets from my axle. On another note, I told my girlfriend that I needed some jeepin' shirts. Today she comes up to work and hands me two shirts from ballistic, a poison spyder tee and one from genright. Is she a keeper or should I keep looking??

Yeah me too! I might wait until my dad gets back in the states but I don't know if I can wait that long... Plus I'd like to wheel this setup before snow comes

FINALLY!....Got some super bling parts in today. I might be starting this project sooner than later. Took the jeep out today messing around in 4lo and heard a nasty noise coming from my rear axle...So I guess its time for a fluid change and inspection of my locker/gears..

Figures..Soon as I get my new axle for the build, my turdy 35 takes a crap! I'll have pictures in a bit. Chewed up my ring gear. Can't see much more because of my locker. PO told me it had welded spiders but it looks like a detroit to me lol...

EDIT: Any of you guys from Ohio want to help me do this 4link swap?? You might become famous one day when this beast is featured in JP or something hahaha. But seriously, my dad is still in Iraq and isn't much help over there so... let me know!

Another small update here. I got my new calipers, rotors, pads, shoes and soft brakelines done on the 8.8. My heims for the axle end showed up today along with my s.y.e. Ruffstuff has THE best shipping! 3/4"X7/8" heims with S.S. high misalingment spacers. Also, got the s.y.e. from here, http://www.performanceoffroadcenter....07052fe399c44f .

This project is now in full swing! Also waiting on a delivery from genright...

Got some more stuff today. Went to lowes and got longer grd8 hardware for all of the joints and I also got some pvc tube to mock up my links so I won't waste any DOM. Still waiting on my 1310 spicer flange, banjo bolts from the stealership, DOM for the links, tube for my truss I'm making, 4link brackets from genright and that should be it.. All of that crap is in transit with tracking numbers all do for Wednesday(my only day off work!)Parents agreed to order me some new tires before school starts up in september so I'll be either getting 35's or 37's

Got the 35 out today using my favorite tools, bfh, sawzall and the grinder. Also, scored some free stock TJ coils. I primered them up and ran out of paint. So I'll pick some up after I get off of work tonight. Tomorrow will be a big day, because I'll have all of my crap and I'm off work so I'll be super busy.
