Saw them, but I don't really understand how they attach to the rack without welding

Yeah your rack will have to fit on them almost perfectly to weld.

^^Found these, not gutter mounts but better then the factory mounts.

Sounds like you don't want to have to weld them on, so I would recommend looking for some load bars that mount to the gutters (I know yakima makes some and probably some others as well). Then you can bolt your rack to the load bars.

Run steel bars for your mounting system and bolt your aluminum rack to them, that way you can use the cheap steel ones available.

I used the hold down clamps for a popup tent camper lid for mine. Cheap and functional.

Heres my old XJ, I used the Yakima bars with gutter mounts.


Lifted ZJ with stuff.
