xj roof rack

k im going to get my steel tomorrow to build my roof rack for my xj. anyone who has built one can they post pictures to give me some final ideas? and to anybody who has built one what did you do to fill the holes from where the stock roof rack is bolted down? any input would be greatly appreciated

I left the ends open so I could haul lumber on it, and I'm really happy I did.

If I built it again, I'd use all 1x1x16ga. steel. Mine has heavier gauge load bars, but once it's all welded together, 16ga. would be more than strong enough.

The JCR rain-gutter mounts are great. I think it's worth the extra money to get six instead of just four.

The spray-can bedliner is worthless. If I had to do it again, I'd just pay the price to have the whole thing sprayed with real bedliner, or powder coated.
